Confrontation between FCT Minister Wike and the Navy lieutenant.
A viral video on social media depicting a powerful Nigerian minister for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, in a tense confrontation with a junior army officer, Lieutenant Ahmad Yerima, has sparked debate about the conduct of public officials.
The dispute occurred over a plot of land, which the lieutenant said he was under orders to protect for a senior officer. FCT Minister Wike, who was prevented from "trespassing" on the property upon arrival, engaged in a verbal tirade with Yerima, who stood his ground.
The Minister of Defence, Bello Matawalle, has told journalists that the army officer will not face any disciplinary action, contrary to threats by the FCT Minister.
